Kennedy Maehl

As I matured into the end of middle school, I realized that people are attracted to pursuits of passions, and I could use my artistic abilities as an outlet to make connections with others. That is when I took the bold step to do something completely out of my comfort zone, join a theater camp. The thought of singing and acting in front of other kids my age was unthinkable. But I felt a passion within me that I knew if I let it loose, I could create new and beautiful paths in my life. So that's exactly what I did. In my drawings I continue to draw portraits of the people I love.  My discovery of art has transformed me from a shy young girl into an outgoing and flourishing young woman who is grateful for the many people surrounding her every moment of her life. Theater has also been a huge part of my artistic participation in my community. I have been involved in the Jensen Beach High school Drama Department since freshman year and dedicated much of my time to Jubilate Choir. I plan to start my own coffee shop or café. It will have many workshops that include physical art, musical art, and written art so that others can find passions like I did in the comfort of a community coffee shop.
