Laura Kay Whiticar-Darvill

About 10 years ago, I took a short jewelry class, making a necklace and earrings. The seed was planted, and I decided to pursue wire wrapping and later work in silver clay. I realized immediately that this was something I wanted to pursue; in fact, I was “hooked.” Over the next ten years I learned techniques and forms for creating jewelry and other objects from silver clay. I also expanded my interests and learned to appreciate sculpture, glass, jewelry, and a variety of painting techniques and forms. The more different types of art I see, the more I want to explore. I believe that art should be seen everywhere. Developing the creative side of a person enriches his or her life.
