The Pittenger Center at St. Mary's Episcopal Church

A tribute to George Gershwin’s 1924 musical composition, the Rhapsody in Blue Gala celebrates both MartinArts’ 45th anniversary and the county’s centennial year. Held in the Pittenger Center at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, it will feature performances from some of the area’s finest artists and a silent auction to fundraise for the historic Stuart High School renovation.

MartinArts has been a driving force for artistic expression for over four decades, providing a supportive infrastructure for the creation and enjoyment of art. By hosting annual events, year-round exhibits and arts education programs, MartinArts reinforces a dynamic arts sector that allows our community to thrive economically, socially, and creatively.

There are many reasons people are flocking to Florida, one of which is the lively towns and cities which have cultivated arts and culture as an important element of their community. Not only do the arts improve well-being and unify our communities, they also drive the area’s economic development with a significant impact of over $31M annually.

With the recent absence of arts funding from the State, MartinArts is faced with making up a future deficit in unrestricted support that we rely on. Unless we are successful in raising more funds from our community, this will force our hands to reduce and eliminate programs. As a community, we must be vigilant in protecting our vital arts community. The arts mean so much to so many aspects of the vibrant quality of life we, as Martin County residents, have come to expect, anticipate and enjoy.
