Adrienne Davis
I have been painting for over 15 years but came to it later in life. I was a lawyer, adult literacy specialist and mother before my interest in painting became a more serious endeavor for me. I had always been interested in art, but never seemed to find the time to pursue it on a consistent basis. I was fortunate to have college studio courses available to me in my community and worked with several instructors from whom I learned so much. I began with watercolor and oil and then moved to acrylics, although watercolor remains an important medium for me. My favorite subjects are still lifes, landscapes and abstracts. But the predominant aspect of painting I am drawn to is color and the way in which color can communicate and shape our responses to art and life. My work has been juried into shows in Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Florida, where I now reside.
