Amy Kay
As the daughter of Max, the owner of the famous Max's Art Supplies in Westport, CT, I spent many years around the table with artists, marveling at their techniques and styles. Yet, I was encouraged to become an educator, not an artist. This is the new performance of my life, emerging as an artist inspired by my world travels, as an accomplished ballet dancer, a cancer survivor, and a life-long public educator.
My journey is unfolding with training from various artists and at the Silvermine School of Art in Connecticut. I work in acrylic, watercolor and mixed-media. My work is modern, geometric, and abstract. When I am not painting I can be found at the beach or rescuing dogs.
