Carrie Fox
Carrie Fox fell in love with the oboe and began playing it at the age of nine. In high school she began studying the oboe with Martha Scherer-Alfee. Carrie received a full music scholarship to Louisiana State University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Music Performance on oboe and studied with Dr. Mark Ostoich. She also received a full scholarship to attend the Brevard Music Center Summer Institute where she studied with Dr. Eric Ohlsson. Carrie used the oboe to earn scholarships to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Central Florida where she played with the UCF Symphony Orchestra, freelanced and studied oboe with Janet Mascaro. Carrie plays in many local ensembles on the Treasure Coast, freelances, and maintains an active oboe studio with students of all ages. Carrie lives in Jensen Beach with her husband Matt and son Alex.
