Josephine Stokes
My journey as an artist began with my love of nature. I currently live and create my art in the beautiful tropical paradise of Stuart, Florida. This is a portfolio of my paintings and ceramics, inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of Florida and Virginia. I have a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Florida and a MIS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on painting and sculpture. After teaching High School Art in Virginia for 18 years, I am thankful to be able to explore nature & create art in my new tropical home. I am a member of the Art Associates of Martin County and paint weekly with the Plein Air artist group in different outdoor locations through out the treasure coast.
