#1 - How to Start Writing Your Memoir
Through a series of memory-focused writing exercises you will be guided through the tangled process of writing memoir. This includes writing with the five senses, developing your personal and unique voice, getting at the truth of your memory in a safe space. New and experienced writers welcome.

#2 - Memoir Nuts & Bolts
Explore fundamentals of memoir such as truth, memory, and reflection, as well as the use of fiction devices such as characterization and dialogue through a series of interactive and generative, flash writing activities in a safe environment. Suitable for new writers or those with works in progress.

March 1st, 2025 * Saturday * 2:30 – 4:30pm
#3 - Memoir Echoes & Structures -
Explore echoes through recurring images, metaphors and symbols through a series of interactive, generative flash writing exercises in a safe environment. Also examine the possibilities of non-linear storytelling such as with mosaic, montage, collage, vignette, braided and triptych essay/memoir forms. Suitable for new writers or those with works in progress.

Chautauqua South is an arts and education series ("celebrating the harvest of the mind, body, and spirit") that runs from January to April yearly, founded and run by the Martin County Library System in Florida and which showcases an array of artists, authors, storytellers, dramatists, historians, educators, and entertainers. The series is funded by Friends of the Library groups and the Library Foundation.
