Our progress and conversations with the School District have been quiet as we waited for Dr. John Millay’s appointment as our new Superintendent of Schools. He has arrived and we look forward to meeting with him soon. Thanks to a generous contribution, we are ready to initiate some pre construction design to help us plan for renovations and capital campaign.
In the interim, a few of us visited the Sarasota Art Museum. They opened their facility last Fall and it so closely resembles our project! They have a 1920’s historic building as the main part which they are using for exhibition space and across a small courtyard, they have new modern buildings that are used to host a café among other things. We had a great tour and visit but best of all, they are willing to share their story and resources with us to help us move ahead!
